This proposal would deliver safer walking and cycling facilities from Spotswood into the city centre.

The route, from Barrett Road through to Dawson Street, would connect six schools and include the installation of protected cycle lanes, shared paths, and raised crossings.

Most of this route is a State Highway and provides the most direct route into the city centre. It is approximately 4km.

Proposed design

The proposed upgrades include:

4km of road with protected cycle lanes
17 intersection improvements
6 raised crossings
950m of shared paths
