Ngamotu Road safety improvements

Project construction: 15 November 2021 to the end of May 2022.

NPDC is making changes to Ngamotu Road from the Paritutu Rd intersection through to the Centennial Dr intersection to improve the safety of road users.

The hill section of Ngamotu Road between Scott Street and Centennial Drive is too narrow to be safely used by trucks. As a result, NPDC is altering the Ngamotu/Paritutu intersection and the Ngamotu/Centennial intersection to direct heavy vehicles onto Paritutu Road and then Centennial Drive.

We will also take the opportunity to encourage lower speeds in the area and improve our footpaths, kerbs and channels.

A weekly update on the project progress will be provided.

Project Update: Monday 14/2/22

 

We will be completing the remainder of the stormwater and concrete works at the intersection of Paritutu Rd and  Ngamotu Rd this week. Please take care at this intersection as there is a new layout in place. 

We have started the excavation works for the new footpath going down the hill on Ngamotu Rd.  Please ensure that you follow the traffic management advice on site and instructions from our team, this helps to keep everyone safe.
