Water in New Plymouth comes from Taranaki Maunga.

The water treatment plants at New Plymouth, Inglewood and Okato treat water from rivers while Ōākura water comes from an underground aquifer.

Once the water is treated it is then piped across the district clean, safe and ready to drink straight from your tap.
