Pukekura Park – guiding the next chapter

New Plymouth District’s diverse parks and reserves are a key part of our outdoor lifestyle, and we’re required to regularly update our plans for how we manage them.

NPDC is working on updating the management plan for Pukekura Park. We’re starting with a discussion with our community about the issues the park faces and some ideas to address them, and we also want to hear about what you expect from our iconic park and any ideas you have for its future.

Your feedback will help us draft a management plan that will be released for public consultation early next year.

Pukekura Park is a beloved and iconic part of our region. We want to enhance those elements that make it special, and ensure that the park continues to reflect the interests of the community.

Open days

Come along to one of our open days to talk more about the issues you care about. Even though these open days are themed, you’re welcome to raise any issues or discuss any ideas you have.

  • Tuesday 28 June: Bellringer Pavilion and the Fillis Street entrance – come to the Bellringer Pavilion between noon and 4pm.
  • Saturday 9 July: Bowl of Brooklands and Enviro-hub – come to the Bellringer Pavilion between 10am and 2pm.
  • Thursday 21 July: Tea House plaza, Cannon Hill and cycle route – come to the Bellringer Pavilion between 8am and noon.
  • Wednesday 10 August: General matters – come to the Bellringer Pavilion between 1pm and 5pm.
