Ngati Mutunga and NPDC want your feedback on the draft Onaero Reserve Management Plan.

Status: Closed
Feedback closed: Monday 14 August 2023

The aim of the plan is to enhance the reserve’s environment and improve its public use, and also highlight the reserve’s cultural and historical values.

Proposals in the draft plan include:

Making the bridge the focal point of the reserve with a strong design that draws on the landscape and Ngāti Mutunga culture.
Improving the entry, and traffic flow and parking within the reserve.
Clearly defining areas of public reserve and camping.
Improving the river’s edge and bird-nesting habitats.
Digging-out a buried stream and restoring it to its original state.
Providing features such as a boardwalk, and a viewing point with seating.
