Learn about water with this fun educational model! The interactive display allows students and adults to play with water, stormwater and wastewater pipes - including pumping water from the river, making it rain and seeing treated water leave the wastewater treatment plant. The model can spark discussions about where our drinking water comes from, where wastewater goes and water conservation.
This portable working model can easily be set up at your school. Most of the water is contained within the model but there will be a few splashes. Ideally it should be set up in a sheltered area outside or in a hall.
NPDC offers a free education programme to primary and intermediate schools in the New Plymouth District. Your students can join in on a range of hands-on sessions about water, wastewater and stormwater in their local environment.
Our experienced Three Waters Educator can present these lessons in person or give you a range of teaching resources which can be modified depending on your students. Lessons include:
• monitoring water usage
• drinking water
• water experiments
• three Waters overview presentation.
