Online payments
We’re currently unable to take online payments due to a technical issue. You can still pay via direct debit, or in person at the Civic Centre or at our service centres at Inglewood, Bell Block and Waitara.

Please use the resource consent checklist to make sure your resource consent application is complete for your specific project. Planning forms and checklists are available below and hard copies are also available from our customer service centres.
Please note that there is a $100.00 charge for processing a hard copy application. If you apply online, there is no charge for accepting your application.
You will need to include the following documents with your application:
An assessment of environmental effects (AEE), in particular it is important that you provide the location of your activity (e.g. a map, aerial photo or sketch with scale).

Assessment of environmental effects
An AEE (more info here) is a report about the effects your proposed activity will or may have on the environment. It shows the ways in which any adverse (or negative) effects of your activity can be managed. An AEE should:
NB: If there are serious environmental affects or neighbours are adversely affected, then your application can take three or more months to process (including hearings).
The resource consent application forms provide sections for you to complete an AEE. However in many instances a more detailed AEE will be required to be submitted with your application. This is normally completed by an appropriate professional with expertise relating to your proposed activity.

Use our portal to apply for a consent online. We do accept hard copies of an application, but this will incur a cost of $100 and slow down the processing time of your application.
If you wish to submit a hard copy, please submit this at NPDCs customer service centres.
All hard copy resource consents applications require the application cover page form to be filled out, along with all relevant activity forms. Please note that all the information in your application is available to the public on request.
