The surface of Tukapa Street has been rebuilt between Dartmoor Avenue and Maratahu Street, due to the poor quality of the road surface.

The project included removing the roundabout at the Tukapa/Sanders roundabout to enable underground infrastructure to be laid. It has been replaced by a temporary roundabout, which could be in place for a few years while NPDC investigates options for managing traffic through this intersection.
