Second naming partner secured for Stadium Taranaki

NPDC’s announcement of Fisher Funds as the new naming rights partner for the West Stand at Stadium Taranaki, marks another milestone in the stadium’s transformation as a valued community hub and a destination for major events.

Fisher Funds joins TSB Bank, which came onboard as the East Stand naming partner in August, reinforcing the strong local ties that underpin Stadium Taranaki’s identity.

Both naming partners are majority-owned by the Toi Foundation, with profits from their operations helping fund community initiatives across New Plymouth and the wider Taranaki region.

New Plymouth District’s Mayor Max says that welcoming both TSB and Fisher Funds reflects the strength of local partnerships and a shared confidence in Taranaki’s potential:

“It’s a real win securing two naming partners who share our local values and commitment to growing the region both on and off the field.”

Fisher Funds CEO Simon Power says the partnership reflects its commitment to supporting the region and its people.

Taranaki Regional Council Chair Craig Williamson says it’s welcome news that both stands at the redeveloped stadium now had funding partners.

“We are thrilled to see Fisher Funds become a naming partner for the West Stand and we thank them for their support,” says Mr Williamson.

Fisher Funds are a valued member of the Ngāmotu - New Plymouth Partners forum and programme. This newly announced partnership complements TSB’s East Stand investment and is a powerful combination of trusted brands locally and nationally.

The venue was developed as a rugby ground in 1931, with the first stadium completed in 1947. Yarrows the Bakers held naming rights to the stadium from 2002 to 2025, including the Noel and Melva Yarrow naming rights for the West Stand until 2022.

In 2018, the West Stand was deemed earthquake-prone and closed for safety reasons.
The stand re-opened in 2022 after the completion of refurbishments including major earthquake strengthening works with improvements to ground stability, foundation tiebacks and new steel beams.

NPDC is currently inviting interest in stadium-wide naming rights, with opportunities also available for suites and other facilities.
