Our Council is responsible for much of the social, cultural, environmental and economic well-being of our residents and our vibrant and diverse communities. This includes providing safe drinking water, managing building permits and resource consents, and providing car parks. We also provide libraries, parks, playgrounds and swimming pools, collect your rubbish and recycling, keep our streets clean and well-lit, and encourage a thriving arts and culture scene by supporting festivals, events and parades.
