Volunteering

Volunteers make our community stronger by helping to support our services and activities.

Volunteers are at the heart of NPDC.

Without our fantastic volunteers, many of the programmes our community loves simply wouldn’t exist. 

Every day, volunteers share their time, skills, and passion across the Council, welcoming guests at ticketed events, delivering books to residents who can’t leave their homes, prepping enclosures at Brooklands Zoo, keeping gardens looking full of life, trapping pests across the district and so much more. Their contribution strengthens our community every single day.

Volunteering is a huge benefit to our organisation, and it should benefit you as well.

NPDC has a variety of volunteer roles across departments. Please note that some of these roles are currently full and are on waitlist only. 

  • Event Venues – (TSB Stadium, Stadium Taranaki, Bowl of Brooklands). Showplace is not currently accepting new volunteers.
  • Festival of Lights- Summer Season
  • Eco Squad (Sustainability)
  • Parks & Reserves – Gardening
  • Parks & Reserves- Pest Trapping (No current trapping lines available- join waiting list)
  • Brooklands Zoo (No current roles available- join waiting list)
  • Puke Ariki - Libraries (No current roles available- join waiting list)
  • Puke Ariki - Museum (No current roles available- join waiting list)
  • Puke Ariki - Taranaki Research Centre (No current roles available- join waiting list)
  • Puke Ariki - Govett Brewster Art Gallery/ Len Lye Centre (No current roles available- join waiting list)
