Handel's Messiah needs little introduction; classical musical audiences have had a long-lived love affair with this work!
The 3-part narrative oratorio features impressive solos interspersed with compelling chorus numbers. The music illustrates Handel's astute ability to move from passionate rage to serene pastoral moments. From the experienced Baroque enthusiast to the uninitiated newcomer, the Messiah is a phenomenal work that combines power with delicacy and is accessible to everyone.
Ars Nova Choir is proud to be accompanied in this concert by the Taranaki Symphony Orchestra. Our four talented and eloquent soloists will be: Bryony Williams - soprano, Charlotte Secker - mezzo soprano, John Beaglehole - tenor, and Roger Wilson - bass.
For the choir, this will also be a particularly poignant farewell to Christopher Luke who will step down having completed a remarkable 15 year period of choral directorship.
Children aged 12 months and under are permitted on an adult's lap (no ticket required).
