The Taranaki National Art Awards 2026 will once again present an exceptional visual art experience that encourages participation within a diverse range of creative mediums, offering a platform for artists from throughout Aotearoa to express their unique vision and voice. Excitement is building for the 24th annual creative showcase, with the dedicated TNAA committee and team of enthusiastic volunteers getting ready to transform a sports stadium into an exhibition space extraordinaire! This year's co-judges are Maree Mills, Curator at Te Whare Taonga, Waikato, and Andrew Clifford, Director of Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery, Whanganui. They have the enviable task of selecting winners from the 265 entries, across seven categories: Painting, Taranaki Artists, Works on Paper, 3D, Fibre Art, Tō Taranakitanga and Photography.
TNAA Opening Night & Awards Ceremony - Come and enjoy the celebratory vibes and 'Infinity' inspired festive feels! On Friday 30 October at 7 pm, Sinclair Events Centre, Ōpunakē. $15 entry with door sales available. Musical entertainment by talented pianist Matt Sagen plus tasty nibbles & refreshments. TNAA 2026 Exhibition - From Saturday 31 October - Sunday 8 November, open daily 10 am - 4 pm, $3 entry. Many artworks are for sale so go for a coastal cruise and peruse this eclectic exhibition, and show your support for our regional creative community!
