Young Visionaries Term 4
Invisible Forces Made Tangible – Art Meets Science
9 - 12 Years Old
Thursdays 3:45 pm - 5:15 pm
15 Oct - 17 Dec 2026
This term, Young Visionaries explores Art Meets Science.
Children will investigate invisible forces, including magnetism, gravity, microbes and seismic movement, through hands-on artmaking.
Across the term, participants will create magnetic wearable art, microbial batik paintings, and twisting kinetic sculptures inspired by Len Lye’s celebrated works Flip and Two Twisters. They will also explore the cosmos through 'moving energy dots', creating handmade particle animations with an old-fashioned zoetrope. Later projects include sculptural responses to the moon’s gravitational pull, the tides, and the shifting energies of our oceans.
