Shaping Taranaki's Future
New Plymouth District residents are invited to have their say and help shape the future of local government in Taranaki. Feedback closes 28 June.
In accordance with the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, the following roads will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic to enable Taranaki Car Club to conduct the SBT Group Taranaki Tarmac Rally.
Date and Period of Closure: Saturday 27 June.
Roads to be closed:
· From 6.45am to 10am: Plymouth Road from SH45 to Carrington Road to Frankley Road to Barrett Road to Pheney Road to the Hurford Road intersection. Roads closed include Kirihau Road.
· From 7.30am to 10.45am: Dover Road from SH45 to Carrington Road, to Upper Pitone Road to the intersection with SH45.
· From 8.30am to 11.45am: Carthew Street from SH45 to Curtis Street to the intersection with Oxford Road.
· From 9am to 12.15pm: Oxford Road from Saunders Road to Carrington Road to Frankley Road to the intersection with Hurworth Road.
· From 10am to 1.15pm: Kent Road from 300m from the intersection with SH3 to Maude Road to Thomson Road to Hill Road to Alfred Road to the intersection with Peters Road. Roads to be closed include Herbert, Korito and Mangawara roads.
· From 11am to 2.15pm: Tarata Road from Kaimata Road to Otaraoa Road Upper to 500m before the McKee Production Station. Roads to be closed include Toetoe Road.
· From 12.15pm to 4pm: Okoki Road from SH3 to the end of tarmac on Kaka Road, including Okoki Road Extension and Kohangamoa Road.
· From 1pm to 4.15pm: Kaka Road from end of tarmac to Uruti Road to the intersection with SH3. Roads closed to include Putts Road and Ri Road and intersection with Moki Road.
· From 2pm to 5.15pm: Clarke Road from Everett Road to Lincoln Road to Richmond Road to the intersection with Wortley Road. Roads to be closed to include Barry, Ackworth, Cross and Elsham roads.
Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times.
The roads may be reopened at an earlier time as decided by the organisers upon removal of all road closure signs and barriers at the venue. The roads will then be open to normal vehicle traffic and normal traffic regulations will apply.
It is an offence under the above regulations to drive on the closed roads during the period outlined above, unless authorised to do so by the event organiser.
In all other situations requiring the use of the road, contact must be made with the site traffic management coordinators on-site, on the day. Alternative routes will be available and signposted.
