REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE: NEW PLYMOUTH CHRISTMAS PARADE

New Plymouth Central Lions Club has requested the closure of the following roads to conduct the annual Christmas Parade.

Date and period of closure: from 10 am to 4pm on Saturday 28 November. Alternative date due to bad weather: Sunday 29 November.

Roads to be closed from 10am to 1pm:

·         Ariki and Gill streets from Egmont to Liardet streets.

·         Devon Street from Egmont to Liardet streets.

·         King Street from Egmont to Brougham streets.

·         Brougham Street from Ariki to Powderham streets.

·         Currie Street from the Ariki and Gill streets’ intersection to Powderham Street.

·         Currie, Huatoki and James lanes.

Roads to be closed from 1pm to 3pm:

·         Ariki and Gill streets from Egmont to Liardet streets.

·         Devon Street from Liardet to Dawson streets.

·         Liardet Street from Devon to Gill streets.

·         Queen Street from Queen to Brougham streets.

·         King Street from Queen to Brougham streets.

·         Robe Street from Devon to Powderham streets.

·         Egmont Street from Ariki to Devon streets.

·         Brougham Street from Ariki to Powderham streets.

·         Currie Street from the Ariki and Gill streets’ intersection to Powderham Street.

·         Huatoki and James lanes.

The application is being considered under the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965. Submissions to the closure should reach New Plymouth District Council by 4pm on Wednesday 24 June.

Submissions must be made on the road closure forms, which is available online at npdc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay, or by contacting the Council on 06-759 6060 or enquiries@npdc.govt.nz.

Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times.

During the proposed period of closure, an approved traffic management plan will provide for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the roads.
