Temporary Road Closure: New Plymouth Christmas Parade: from 8am to 4pm on Saturday 29 November, alternative date due to weather 30 November

New Plymouth Central Lions Club has requested the closure of the following roads to conduct the annual Christmas Parade.

Date and period of closure: 8m to 4pm on Saturday 29 November. Alternative date due to weather 30 November.

Roads to be closed from 10am to 1pm:

·          Ariki and Gill streets from Egmont to Liardet streets.

·          Devon Street from Egmont to Liardet streets.

·          King Street from Egmont to Brougham streets.

·          Brougham Street from Ariki to Powderham streets.

·          Currie Street from the Ariki and Gill streets’ intersection to Powderham

·          Street.

·          Currie Lane.

·          Huatoki Lane.

·          James Lane.

Roads to be closed from 1pm to 3pm:

·          Ariki and Gill streets from Egmont to Liardet streets.

·          Devon Street from Liardet to Dawson streets.

·          Liardet Street from Devon to Gill streets.

·          Queen Street from Devon to King streets.

·          King Street from Queen to Brougham streets.

·          Robe Street from Devon to Powderham streets.

·          Egmont Street from Ariki to Devon streets.

·          Brougham Street from Ariki to Powderham streets.

·          Currie Street from the Ariki and Gill streets’ intersection to Powderham Street

·          Huatoki Lane.

·          James Lane.

Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times.

The roads may be reopened at an earlier time as decided by the organisers upon removal of all road closure signs and barriers at the venue. The roads will then be open to normal vehicle traffic and normal traffic regulations will apply.

It is an offence under the above regulations to drive on the closed roads during the period outlined above, unless authorised to do so by the event organiser.

In all other situations necessitating the use of the road, contact must be made with the site traffic management coordinators on-site, on the day. Alternative routes will be available and signposted.
