Clean-up underway after weekend storm topples trees

Weather update, 12.30pm, Monday 22 May

  • After a weekend of strong gales and rain, please take care on the roads and walkways around the district. 
  • Our crews are out today clearing up trees toppled by high winds at the weekend in Poplar Grove, Karamea St, Frankley Rd, Parrs Rd, Rossiter Cres, Magnolia Place, Memorial Drive in Waitara, Mangatoro Rd and Budleigh St.
  • Our roading crews are also out tidying up debris on local roads, but none are closed. 
  • In central New Plymouth, the Huatoki underpass and Coastal Walkway have reopened, including the section between Belt Road and Port Taranaki.
