Please don’t swim or gather food at Fitzroy Beach.

Testing of the water at the beach by Taranaki Regional Council on 9 December returned elevated levels of the potentially-harmful bacteria.

We’re sorry this will inconvenience people hoping to spend the weekend at Fitzroy Beach.

We have fixed a water pipe that burst in Urenui yesterday, and water has been restored to all affected homes.

Its believed a contractor drilled through the water pipe in Urenui yesterday afternoon, in Takiroa street and a full investigation is underway.

We thank residents for their patience while we repaired the pipe.

Residents are asked to run an outside tap for a couple of minutes until the water is clear if they find tapwater is discoloured.

We’re currently working on what our priority work programmes should be for our next 10-Year Plan (2021-2031) and if we should invest up to $300 million in improving our ageing water infrastructure.
