Parking sensors deactivated

Local News
PUBLISHED: 25 NOV 2020
  • We’re deactivating 440 of our 1600 parking sensors because of a malfunction.
  • A technical glitch means we can’t guarantee the sensors’ batteries are working as they should. So we’re deactivating them as a precautionary measure in the interest of public safety.
  • After the first malfunction earlier this month the supplier replaced 62 sensors.
  • We had a second incident of a similar nature earlier this week.
  • We’ll be working hard to make sure the supplier covers the cost of these incidents.
  • The parking rules are still the same and our parking team will still be out checking.
  • Thanks for backing local businesses and please keep feeding the meter and watching the time limits.
