Read all about our water projects. These cover the infrastructure required for the Three Waters of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater.

Inglewood - Pukatea Street sewer main install

As part of our program to maintain quality infrastructure, we will be installing a new sewer main line and property service connections on Inglewood’s Pukatea Street and Kelly Street from Rata Street (SH3) through to Towai Street, this will increase the capacity of the network.

Urenui/Onaero wastewater project

This project is to collect and pipe wastewater from the Urenui and Onaero towns and domains to a local treatment plant and then irrigate treated water to land.

Lake Mangamahoe water intake improvements

Work began in March at Lake Mangamahoe to upgrade the water collection system that supplies the New Plymouth Water Treatment Plant.

Waitara wastewater

This project will fix various operational issues, including health and safety requirements.

Water meters

Water use in New Plymouth District is high. Part of NPDC’s water conservation programme includes adding water meters to all residential homes in New Plymouth District, as locals will be able easily see just how much water they use at home.
