Current phone issues

3:00PM 29 May 2023

We love hearing from you, but we are having some issues with our phones. You can still reach us on enquiries@npdc.govt.nz. Thanks for your patience while we resolve the issue.

Construction will take place over four years, starting later in 2023 and finishing in 2027.

Currently, we are designing stage one of the path and obtaining resource consents from our Council and Taranaki Regional Council, and working to secure land for the pathway’s route in stage one.

We aim to start building stage one later this year at Otupaiia/Marine Park and we’ll open each completed section to the public as we progress.

  • Stage 1: From Waitara to the intersection of Brown and Tate roads (2023 – July 2024).
  • Stage 2: Bell Block to New Plymouth Airport (July 2024 – end of 2025).
  • Stage 3:  From the intersection of Brown and Tate roads to New Plymouth Airport (end of 2025 – end of 2027).
