Request for Temporary Road Closure: Bell Block, Waitara and Inglewood Christmas Parades

The Bell Block and Inglewood Lions Clubs and Waitara Alive have requested the closure of the following roads to conduct their annual community Christmas Parades.

BELL BLOCK

Date and period of closure: from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday 6 December.

Roads to be closed:

·          Murray Street from Chesney to Nugent streets.

·          Nugent Street to the roundabout.

·          Wynyard Street to Chesney Street.

·          Bell Block Court.

WAITARA

Date and period of closure: from 8.30am to noon on Saturday 13 December.

Roads to be closed:

·          McLean Street from Cracroft Street to West Quay.

·          Queen Street from McLean to Whitaker streets.

·          Whitaker Street from Queen Street to West Quay.

·          West Quay from Whitaker to McLean streets.

·          Memorial Place from Whitaker to McLean streets.

·          Affected adjoining roads: Courthouse and Wrights lanes (service lanes).

INGLEWOOD

Date and period of closure: from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 13 December.

Roads to be closed:

·          Matai Street (SH3) from Brookes to Rata streets (SH3).

·          Rata Street from Rimu Street (SH3a) to Brown Street.

·          Kelly Street from Brown to Matai streets.

·          Richmond Street from Rata to Carrington streets.

·          Cutfield Street from Brookes to Carrington streets.

The application is being considered under the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965. Submissions to the closure should reach NPDC by 4pm on 5 September 2025.

Submissions must be made on the road closure form, which is available online at npdc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay or by contacting the Council on 06-759 6060 or enquiries@npdc.govt.nz.

Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times.

During the proposed period of closure, an approved traffic management plan will provide for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the roads.
