We’re on the lookout for people passionate about the arts to assess applications for Creative Communities Scheme (CCS) funding for local projects.
We’re looking for people who:
You will be part of a committee of 7 movers and shakers from the community, (including two New Plymouth District Council representatives appointed by the Mayor) that will review Creative Community Scheme applications from artists and community groups and allocate funding.
You will attend two funding committee meetings each year as well as training and priority-setting sessions.
The committee will be in place for three years.
This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of creativity in our community and support projects that bring arts and culture to life.
No funding experience is needed. You will learn how to assess applications and make impactful funding decisions, giving you valuable insight into how community funding works. Being part of the assessment committee is a meaningful way to give back and connect with your local arts scene.
You can nominate yourself or someone else by using the application form below and emailing it to grants@npdc.govt.nz.
Nominations close Friday 20 February 2026. The new committee will be selected by the previous committee, who will focus on ensuring a range of arts expertise and community sectors are represented.
If you have any questions or want to talk with our team, email grants@npdc.govt.nz or phone 06 759 6060.
Download the Assessor Nomination Form below, fill it in, and email it to grants@npdc.govt.nz.
Each year Creative New Zealand provides funding to local and district councils throughout New Zealand to distribute in their area. It is not funded by NPDC ratepayers. The scheme supports more than 1,800 projects across New Zealand every year.
