Swimming alert at Fitzroy Beach

Please don’t swim or gather food at Fitzroy Beach.

Testing of the water at the beach by Taranaki Regional Council on 9 December returned elevated levels of the potentially-harmful bacteria.

We’re sorry this will inconvenience people hoping to spend the weekend at Fitzroy Beach.

We support our community through a range of funding investments aimed to support our Community Outcomes of Community, Environment and Economy.

We do this by making financial investments to organisations and individuals operating within, and benefiting the people and district of New Plymouth.

Not only do we manage a number of grants which community groups and individuals can apply for, we work with the community to help groups to plan for the future and respond to the changing needs of the community.

We are part of a regional initiative, called the Wheelhouse, aimed at providing a joint approach to building great community groups. The Wheelhouse website has been designed to enable community groups to become stronger and more sustainable by finding the right information. Make the Wheelhouse your first port of call.
