We invite you to come & visit our 2025 Taranaki Fringe Garden Festival. This is one of New Zealand’s friendliest garden festivals and we pride ourselves on the variety of plants we can grow in Taranaki.

The Taranaki Fringe Garden Festival is a ten-day adventure into the homes of garden gurus throughout the Taranaki region. We aim to inspire and motivate our visitors to take their own gardening skills to the next level.

Every year we have a selection of new private gardens, some stunning gardens returning after a break and four public gardens entered. It is good to have fresh gardens and ideas for the regular festival visitors but they also like to revisit gardens they have seen in past years to see what changes have been made and how the plants have grown.

We offer cottage gardens, native gardens, highly structured or rambling and informal, whatever your taste in gardens there is something for everyone. We encourage visitors to explore our home studios in the gardens and the many other places of interest along the TFGF trail thus creating a truly Taranaki Experience as they travel the region.

The TFGF offer affordable pricing at $2pp per garden. We offer practicality as many gardeners attending the TFGF are looking to replicate ideas from our gardens and as the concepts and features displayed are realistically attainable, they are able to do this in their own gardens.

The TFGF thrives on its friendliness and approachability. All our gardeners open their gardens up with a hearty welcome and are happy to talk about their gardens, answer questions and give advice. Some of our festival gardeners also offer a free hot drink and biscuit and invite you to bring your own picnic and blanket to enjoy passing time in their garden.
