Volunteer at Zero Waste Events

Events can rapidly create tonnes of single-use waste. NPDC is on a mission to reduce the amount of waste headed to landfills from events.

We provide advice and infrastructure, and even subsidise the cost of recycling and composting if the event diverts a minimum of 50 per cent of the total waste from landfill.

Recent events that have worked with us on waste management have managed to divert more than 90 per cent of their events’ total waste from landfill.

Sustainable Taranaki has partnered with NPDC to help recruit, train and manage volunteers for Zero Waste events.

Zero Waste volunteers staff bin stations, help with set-up and clean-up, and provide friendly advice to event-goers about what items go into each bin.

As a volunteer you get free entry to the event and will be helping to keep Taranaki clean, green and pristine.
