Repair Cafe

Get your things fixed for free by the dedicated and skilled volunteers at this awesome community event.

We'll have repairers for clothing, bicycles, appliances, toys and more! As well as free repairs, you’ll find expert help and friendly advice on hand from our amazing local volunteers who can give you tips on how to repair everyday items yourself.

Let’s work together to reduce waste and help each other.

The Repair Cafe is: Sunday 29 June - 11am - 2pm - Ferndale Hall, 291 Frankley Road New Plymouth

What can I bring to the Repair Cafe?

Bring along your favourite jacket that’s missing a button, bicycle, broken toy, appliances, or even small furniture, and our skilled volunteers will have a go at fixing it up for you.

If you’re in doubt about your item, register for the event and tell us about it. We’ll get back to you if we have any questions.

Registration

  • Registration will get you a preferred time before a volunteer. Walk-ins are welcome on the day. If you have to wait to be seen, there’ll be a comfy seat and a cup of tea available.
  • Once you’ve registered we’ll email you back to confirm and advise if we have any concerns about your item.
  • We can’t guarantee a repair until we see it on the day (you may need to purchase or supply parts or batteries), but we’ll do our best.

This community event offers free entry, free repairs, and a darn good time. It’s just one way we can help reduce waste by recycling, fixing broken goods, and save you money!
