Businesses, clubs, schools, marae, churches and other community groups that produce about the same volume of waste and recyclables as a residential household, and that are either in New Plymouth’s CBD or an existing collection area.
The charge for the 2025-26 financial year is $315, invoiced on or about 1 July annually.
For organisations beginning part way through the year the charge will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. Likewise, groups opting out receive a credit for months paid and not serviced.
There is a charge of $199 to receive a set of bins which is not refundable but does include the cost of removal.

No. As with the residential collection, businesses and community groups will receive one bin for each of these.
You will need to make alternative arrangements for disposing of these materials. NPDC’s kerbside collection can take only those materials that fit safely within the provided bins and crates.
The bins and crate must be stored in a secure area off the street.
Businesses and community groups who have signed up for NPDC’s kerbside collection can opt-out later on, if they wish.
