Yes. Wai Hononga is a council-controlled organisation (CCO) and remains 100% publicly owned by New Plymouth District Council.
Wai Hononga is governed by an independent Board of Directors appointed by New Plymouth District Council. The Board provides strategic oversight and helps ensure the organisation delivers safe, reliable, and sustainable water services.
Customers will experience little change in the day-to-day delivery of drinking water and wastewater services. Our focus is on ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining reliable services for the community.
