What we do

From 1 July 2027, Wai Hononga will be responsible for delivering drinking water and wastewater services across New Plymouth District. 

This includes operating and maintaining water infrastructure, investing in future improvements, and helping ensure communities continue to receive safe, reliable, and sustainable water services.

  • Water and wastewater networks 

 

Our Responsibilities 

  • Supplying safe drinking water 

  • Collecting and treating wastewater 

  • Maintaining water infrastructure

Need Help Today? 

  • Until 30 June 2027, New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) remains responsible for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater services, including customer enquiries, service requests, approvals, and connection applications. From 1 July 2027, Wai Hononga will become responsible for delivering drinking water and wastewater services across New Plymouth District.
