Trainer and woman boxing
Clare working with a woman at the gym

Clare Barrie

"Movement is medicine for creating change in a person's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.”

My initial ‘serious’ interest in exercise began 20 years ago when I took part in my first aquarobics class, two years later I qualified as an Aqua Fitness Instructor, and it has remained my passion ever since. More recently, in 2008, I qualified as a gym-based Fitness Instructor through Net Fit in Auckland.

In this industry you never stop learning, not just through structured courses, but through the individuals you meet on a day-to-day basis. People with a wide variation of goals, fitness levels, health issues and personalities.

My aim is to challenge, encourage and motivate people, respecting their individuality, to achieve their goals, desired outcomes and more importantly their overall sense of wellbeing through realistic and achievable programming.

  • FISAF—Net Fit Certified Instructor
  • Community Recreation Aquatics Level 4
  • Certified Aqua Fitness Instructor in:
    • Deep water

Wendy on a treadmill

Wendy Sutton

I have worked at Todd Energy Aquatic Centre as a Fitness Consultant and Aqua Instructor for about ten years. In that time, I have written a variety of programmes to meet a range of client’s needs.

The fact that every day I never know who I’m going to meet and what issues or problems they’re going to have and need my help with is extremely motivating. No two people are the same, therefore I know even if they have similar goals that one size does not fit all, so I will always strive to look for solutions for my clients and any issues they may have.

I offer an open mind and a willingness to try different theories and practices to assist you in achieving whatever your goal may be in coming to the gym, pool, or both.

Current qualifications

  • NISAF- Net Fit Certified Instructor
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology-Certificate (Naturopathic College)
  • Power Plate Level 1 Instructor
  • Dealing with Knee Injuries and Conditions Certificate (FIA Fitnation AU)
  • Nutrition and Weight Management Certificate (FIA Fitnation AU)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
