I bring over 14 years of local Government experience, currently as chair of the Waitara Community Board. I am committed to strong local representation, responsible spending, and practical solution that reflect the needs of all our communities.
I have led initiatives like the Waitara Focus Group and Community Board Plans working alongside manawhenua and residents to shape a share vision. I advocate for better infrastructure, cleaner waterways, safer roads that work, and accessible public services.
I believe in democracy that listens. I will ensure everyone - regardless of background - has the opportunity to be heard and respected in decision making.
I stand for character over charisma, service over self-interest, and action over promises. I would be honoured to represent the North Ward on Council.
Yes
What?
I would look at how to get value out of what we have got rather than denying or reducing current services. Questions: Are we really getting the best for what we pay for?
Yes
What?
Giving weighted advantage to local business and residents in the procurement of services that the council uses. We should employ local people rather than using offshore or National business for work and services that can be done locally.
No
Why?
This is not solely a problem for Central Government. We need to share the burden of being a good neighbour and more so for those that are having a tough time. How do we equip & empower people to do better for themselves to make better decisions.
Yes
Why?
We have been in danger of having this taken from us by Central Government. This way we can have governance over it for future generations and better allocate the resource for our people. Otherwise is will be managed by Central Government.
Yes
Why?
We need a culture that affords us the moral value of keeping our place clean. How do we deal with our waste and retain personal responsibility? Keep our water ways and ocean clean. Take pride in living in the best place in the world.
No
Why?
Other communities within the NPDC have in the past requested help for sporting hubs, NPDC has always said that they were not in the business of funding sporting hubs. Communities have funded Sports Hubs themselves. Tūparikino should be self funded.
Yes
Why?
Our roads are not a safe place for leisure and for cyclists. Where possible these cycleways need to be off our roads and streets. There are many cycleways being adopted within the NPDC that are not being funded directly by the NPDC.

Democracy needs protection. Once lost we have to fight to get it back. Many groups lack courage to have their say. We need to afford the opportunity for all people have the freedom to speak and vote freely. This is one message in support.
Events bring people and improve our community. Having Venture Taranaki as a business for the promotion of our district is an ideal model of attracting money, business and opportunity to our district.
1) Restoring trust in local government through competent, values-based governance, 2) Empowering local communities to shape their future and take ownership in their direction. In all I will offer my best and do my best.
