I am standing for the North General Ward to represent all communities - rural, coastal, and township with fairness, transparency, and integrity. Born and raised in Waitara and now living in Urenui, I have a deep connection to the North and a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities we face.
I bring strong business acumen, sound judgement, and a commitment to responsible decision-making. I believe in open communication, community involvement, and ensuring ratepayers see value in every dollar spent.
With rising costs and increasing financial pressure on households, it is vital that Council focuses on long-term sustainability, avoids wasteful spending, and delivers services that meet real community needs.
We must remain vigilant to the growing gap between urban and rural priorities and ensure the North receives its fair share of investment and attention.
I will work hard to ensure our communities are heard, supported, and positioned to thrive.
Yes
What?
I’d review spending to focus on core services and fair investment, reduce costly overruns, and prioritise local needs over large central projects — protecting what matters while easing ratepayer pressure.
Yes
What?
We need to grow new industries, support local entrepreneurs, and invest in skills and infrastructure to keep our economy strong through the transition.

Why?
By partnering with govt and community groups, NPDC can target resources efficiently, reducing rough-sleeping while making every ratepayer dollar count.
Yes
Why?
Only if the CCO delivers lower costs, improves service quality, and maintains strong local oversight—ensuring fair, timely investment in North Ward’s water infrastructure.
Yes
Why?
NPDC could strengthen climate support by improving adaptation planning, boosting community education, and investing in resilient infrastructure to protect residents, the environment, and future-proof the district.
No
Why?
NPDC shouldn’t spend $50m on the hub, as it’s a heavy burden on ratepayers. Smaller investments in grassroots clubs can keep communities thriving without straining budgets.
No
Why?
More separated cycleways aren’t necessary across the district and would add ongoing costs for maintenance, with limited benefit to most residents.

Why?
No Stress, Vote YES. I support a Māori Ward to ensure fair representation and that council decisions reflect the diversity of our community.
NPDC can attract major events by fast-tracking permits, improving transport and parking, supporting event infrastructure upgrades, and coordinating council services to make hosting easier and more appealing.
My top priorities are ensuring essential services and infrastructure meet the needs of all residents, from young to elderly, and managing ratepayer funds responsibly to keep our district safe, connected, and thriving.
