I'm proud to call Taranaki home - a region shaped by hard work, ingenuity, and a deep sense of community. As a business owner in engineering and infrastructure, I've spent decades solving real-world problems and delivering practical solutions that stand the test of time.
I believe our district deserves leadership that's grounded, forward-thinking, and fiscally responsible. Ratepayers should see real value for every dollar spent - through infrastructure that lasts, service that matter, and planning that reflects local priorities.
My commitment is simple: to serve with integrity, build with integrity, build with purpose, and lead with hope. Together, we can shape a future that honours our heritage, supports enterprise, and delivers outcomes our communities can be proud of.

Yes
What?
I will focus on delivering promised projects efficiently before starting new ones. Savings can come from cutting waste and improving planning, not by breaking commitments already made to our community.
Yes
What?
Offer rates discounts to companies who are relocating here and creating new employment opportunities. Lower costs and Taranaki’s lifestyle can attract new enterprises, creating jobs and boosting our local economy during the shift from oil and gas.
No
Why?
Early action on rough sleeping would have been more responsible socially and financially. Current bylaws fall short in protecting retailers and the community, and must be improved to effectively address the problem.
Yes
Why?
Only because a CCO would help protect our water assets from changing central government policies. This structure offers more local control and security, ensuring these vital services stay in the community’s hands despite political shifts.
No
Why?
Our past investments in flood control have served us well. Instead of costly new programmes, focus should remain on maintaining and upgrading this vital infrastructure to protect the district from climate events effectively and sustainably.
No
Why?
The jump from $40m to $50m with much less delivered shows poor planning and cost control. Council must focus on delivering value and avoid costly projects that risk burdening ratepayers without clear benefits.
No
Why?
Not as currently implemented with the concrete “Tim Tam” barriers that have failed elsewhere and pose safety risks. Safer, simpler measures like rumble strips would better protect cyclists without adding unnecessary hazards.

Why?
This is a binding referendum, not just a poll, and I will accept the community’s decision—whatever it is. We live in a democracy, and the people’s voice must be honoured.
Where events bring broad economic benefits, council should actively support them. For events with a smaller reach, council should not create unnecessary hurdles, allowing communities to host activities that strengthen local life.
My top priorities are restoring reliable infrastructure, maintenance of existing assets, and keeping our streets, parks, and reserves clean and safe. Getting this right ensures our communities remain healthy and welcoming places to live.
