Born and bred in New Plymouth, I bring firsthand business skills and broad life experience to the table. I have started and run two successful small-to-medium businesses, building strong skills in finance, compliance, and team leadership.
Community matters to me. I have volunteered with groups like Taranaki Mountain Ales and served as branch manager for NZISM (New Zealand Institute of Safety Management). I am currently President of the Friends of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre.
I have studied various courses at WITT and strongly believe in keeping it thriving as a key part of our region's future.
I will be an approachable, engaged councillor who listens first, acts thoughtfully, and works hard to represent all voices. Let's shape a strong, smart future for New Plymouth - together.

What?
Not at this stage. There many avenues to increase the revenue generated by NPDC controlled community and event spaces. I believe that increasing revenue rather than reducing services is a better option to reduce the burden on ratepayers.

What?
Venture Taranaki have been positive in their promotion of our region and encourages business growth and development. I like the under discussion increased local procurement.

Why?
The NPDC are considering several options to provide interim accommodation and support for rough sleepers. There is funding for a social worker and 12 million over three years has been committed to increasing the regions affordable housing stock.
Yes
Why?
NPDC has experience with CCOs including the airport and Venture Taranaki. The specialist oversight provide by a CCO could help decrease the cost of compliance and increase efficiency.
No
Why?
NPDC is developing a Climate Action Plan. There has been a considerable amount of money allocated for planning with built in annual increases. On a practical level there is emissions reduction with the introduction of EVs to the council fleet.
Yes
Why?
I think the concept of providing an active community hub is forward looking. There is a future need and combining all in one facility is great. However this needs to be balanced against rising construction costs and ongoing running costs.
Yes
Why?
With the proviso that they are better designed. From a H&S perspective the recently constructed cycle-way on Devon Street west is poorly designed. The layout changes every few hundred meters.

Why?
I am supportive of increasing representation in local government.
I think the completion of the stadium repair/upgrade will encourage more events to New Plymouth. We certainly have good event infrastructure.
Listen and learn. Listen to the issues of concern to the community. And learn the NPDC processes.
