ANZAC rugby rivalry coming to Stadium Taranaki

Former All Blacks and Wallabies will clash in a blockbuster showdown at Stadium Taranaki for the ANZAC Day Classic on Saturday 25 April 2026. 

Expect an epic blast from the past, when home-side heroes Chris Masoe, Nehe Milner-Skudder, and Jason Eaton line up against Australian greats Radike Samo, Wycliff Palu and Andrew Walker, under the coaching guidance of legendary winger David Campese.  The full lineup of legends will be announced soon.

Proudly hosted by NPDC and presented by Taranaki Like No Other, this landmark event will bring locals and visitors together for an iconic celebration of sporting rivalry.

New Plymouth District Mayor Max says Taranaki is made for events like this with world-class facilities, a passionate sporting community and a backdrop that’s second to none.

“We love our rugby here and we’ve seen some great clashes over the years. Having some of the game’s legends from here and across the ditch for an ANZAC day showdown will be a real treat for fans and who knows, maybe we can regularise a classic Bledisloe fixture.”
